A kiss is the touching of one person’s lips to another place, which is used as an expression of affection, respect, greeting, farewell, good luck, romantic affection or sexual desire.

I don’t understand half of what you said because I’m pretty drunk right now but I do know that kissing was around before the creation of the American colonies. It was a European thing, but I dont know when it became a common practice. When Europeans traveled around to other cultures and kissed in front of the natives, the other cultures were often disgusted and freaked out. They had thought of other ways to display affection that were a little more, um, sanitary… Such as pressing noses together, or simply hugging. They might have been on to something (mouths are dirty as f*ck), but for the most part, every world culture in this day and age has adoped the kiss as the definitive sign of affection.

I know that in Romania a male kisses a woman on the cheek if they know each other. The same if he doesn’t know her. Just part of their social customs.
